Help firmware update question

Hello there,i just got a sgs2 sim free unlocked here in PAKISTAN and checked that its not running the latest firmware.So i read about how to update it and found that youve got to do it through kies.Ran it but still got no update.I want to know whether i also have to connect it via usb or is doing it through wifi on kies fine?I mean apart from running kies over wifi.fo i also have to connect it via usb to show the update?Or is the update just not there?Its running the firmware XWKDD.Please help me out.thank you.

You need to install kies on PC and connect via USB. Its not kies air.

there's a thread here on the first page with the latest firmware. I flashed my Vodafone uk bloatware firmware with it using Odin, no issues, took about 5 minutes in total. Kies might not be showing updates because your provider put a custom firmware on it.
