Firmware update

I pulled it this morning. I've only had the tablet for a week so I haven't noticed any differences. There is that new app SuperNote but since I have horrible handwriting and can type faster than I write, it's not interesting to me.

Got the update tonight and have already noticed snappy speed improvements. Haven't tried new apps yet, but am pleased with the new responsiveness.

Great job asus! The constant, quick to share updates are the reason I'm sticking with you and will not consider any other android tablets.

Samsung, you could learn a thing or two.

Anybody in the UK got the update yet?

If it was released yesterday, and available OTA, then I'm missing something ...

I didn't get it pushed over automatically. I went through the settings>about, and checked for system updates there, at which point it told me that there is something.

hot giggety giggety goooooo! installing now :)

hey was there an update to the dock firmware too? (havent got it with me right now @ work hehe)

Just got it, I may be imagining it but it seems even smoother now, the Home screens.
Supernote is superb, love the finger painting

Agreed. Super Note does look interesting. I may get a good bit of use from it if I remember it's there ;)

Just received the update here in Belgium. Wow, about everything runs smoother. Supernote looks interesting, havn't fiddled much with it yet. Typing in this forum with the stock browser now has less lag. Live wallpapers seem to have less impact on the launcher's speed. Thank you, Asus.

I have experienced a few problems with this upgrade, all related to the stock browser, and I was wondering if I'm the only one.

1. The stock browser no longer shows up when I press the 'recent apps' button.

2. It defaults to mobile versions of sites, even when 'user agent' is set to 'desktop'. I've noticed this on many sites, eg. Google and Youtube.

3. It always asks you what to use for a new link, even when you check the 'use this as default' checkbox.

Has anybody experienced this too, or is it just me?

I'm experiencing the same issues. I've also noticed
- battery is draining faster when not in use
- infrequent random restarts

Your's is the first post I've seen with these issues. I hope someone can shed some light on the situation.

I have the same problem. The user agent is now in the normal settings as oppose to about:debug. I get mobile versions of bbc also. Has anyone got a fix?

Thank you.

It seems that the browser is a little snappier, yes. And typing in these forums is better. There's still some lag but it appears to be better. And the only site I have a problem with is bbc.co.uk. So far, the two worst sites for me (wral.com and msnbc.com) do not default to moblie so maybe it's something with bbc.co.uk?

I have found out that this update is not available to everybody.
The update is based on the Build number.

For example epad-8.6.5.7-xxxxxx

to be honest i wouldnt be surprised they've pulled the 3.2.1 from distribution from all the issues that we've got from it and they are likely going to wait till they have ICS ready for distribution...which is kinda sad as i think the issues on the wiki/battery and browser can be sorted out quickly in the mean time.

Has anyone else got the notification for a new Firmware Update? I did the update that came out a while ago but now it keeps saying there is another, and when I try to install it, It starts the system check and reboots, then it starts the Firmware Update and the bar gets to about half and then gives me the Android Logo and Triangle with the Exclamation mark, I reboot the TF and it boots back up fine and they it re-downloads the update again, Doesn anyone else have this issue? I am currently running 3.2.1, and build 8.6.5.13-2011.09.25

I got the update and it appears to have applied correctly. Currently 3.2.1 build HTK75.US_epad.8.6.5.18-20111028
