Help Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please help!!!!

cdjhits

Lurker
I just got a samsung galaxy s2 from a friend
went to test out all the setting and the wi-fi wasnt working properly
i read a forum online stating that i had to root my phone and install something to get my device's wi-fi to work so i went and rooted my phone
next i went to follow this forum to get my phone to work
i really had no clue what this forum was saying but as stupid as i was, i tried to follow it
i put my phone into download mode then i didnt know what to do so i just turned off my phone
now my phone is stuck on the screen saying "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again"
on the top left hand corner it says "ODIN MODE, Product Name: SGH-T989D, Custom Binary Download: No, Current Binary: Samsung Official"
i tried using firmware emergency recovery but it won't detect my phone
and the phone doesn't go into download mode, or recovery mode
what do i do?

Hi cdjhits :hello: Welcome to the forums.

If you haven't gotten it fixed yet, first, try pulling the battery and then see if you can get to recovery and do a factory reset. If that doesn't work follow this guide and install the stock rom.

I'm not sure why you would need to root to get wifi to work, but you can follow this guide to root again.
