Help Firmware upgrade frozen

shaulbehr

Lurker
Today Kies informed me that there's a firmware upgrade (Ver 11.05.16.01) available for my Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100T). Being the early adopter type, I went ahead and started the installation.

Now I've had the "Firmware upgrade" screen up for about half an hour, and that progress bar is not moving from 0%. It also warns me very ominously, "Please do not disconnect the cable connected to the PC" - and on the phone it reinforces this: "Do not turn off target !!" And there is no "cancel" button.

Now it's starting to get late, and I need to go home soon. I do not want to have to leave my phone in the office! OTOH, I am very afraid of what damage might happen if I disconnect the phone!

HELP please!!

Removing the cable can cause serious problem. That's why you need the battery up as well as having to allow a couple of hours at least for the updates.

You might have to leave the phone as long as you can. After some time if there is no progress, a box might appear saying its been timed out and you have a choice to restart. That's when you can choose to stop and remove the cable.

Good luck.
