Hey , I'm new here so ill say hi too.
Anyways , a week ago I got a Desire S for my birthday and before i had an ipod touch.
I know that jailbreaking an ios device is easy and if you mess up you simply restore. What about an android device? What are the risks of rootibg and can you restore itback to its original state for warranty purposes? Are the roms there any roms available for daily use? ( 3.2.5, sense 3.5 , ice cream sandwich? )
Thanks in advance :)

There are risks, but nothing that can't be avoided if you read up first on what you want to do, can follow instructions and take the necessary precautions (e.g. backing up).

Restoring things back is always possible, but the methods will differ according to how you gained S-Off and in what way you've altered your phone.

There are plenty of custom ROMs around for the Desire S, some are based on the different Sense ROMs - 2.3, 3.0 and 3,5; others are plain Android ROMs, up to Gingerbread 2.3.5. And there are beta ROMs that use ICS.
