Help First Android from Windows Phone7

Hey guys,

Received my phone today and absolutely love it.
Got a few questions and any help would be extremely appreciated.

1.)First the calendar doesn't seem to be working at all.
I cant add any events and its not syncing with my google calendar?

2.)The next problem, the lock animation where it closes the screen down seems to have stopped and it just locks instantly?

3.)I have just moved over from Windows Phone 7, i have no doubt android is a much more mature platform but one thing my Omnia 7 does amazingly is organize my phone book/contacts with facebook. When i added my gmail account to set the phone up it added all my gmail contacts, that i have never used.



4.)And what is the best weather app widget (australia)?
Does anyone know of a page that will run through tip and tricks on ice cream sandwich / android as this is my first android device.


Sorry for the long and most likely annoying post but sadly 99% of my friends use iphone's and my google searches seem to be coming up blank.
Any help is very much appreciated!

Well I would say you have made wrong decision. Anyways, now when you have got an android phone in your hands, here is the list of popular weather gadgets for android phone. You can use any of them.

Well im very happy thus far just a few issues to iron out.
I believe that the facebook sync is bugged right now but will be fixed.

Beautiful Widgets is now 10cents so pretty happy running that.
The only issues left are,

Calendar has been fixed - was a pretty rare issue i believe.

And the lock button animation no longer happens at all? Any ideas?
Any help on this last issue?

Good! I have been extremely happy with android for 3 years now. Hopefully either Google and/or the community can get those resolved (eventually).

I believe that the facebook sync is bugged right now but will be fixed.

Supposedly there is a "major overhaul" coming to the Android Facebook App, hopefully sooner rather than later...

Beautiful widgets is nice. I also use BEWeather, and bounce between the two...

If you haven't changed any settings that could've affected this, then the first thing to try is power cycle your device (turn off/on). That usually clears up any minor problems you are having.

Hoping this facebook update comes sooner than later - facebook sync is the one thing that i really could use.

Thanks again! Just updated facebook but i believe i need a phone update in order to sync.facebook contacts with ics yea?

I have gone over all settings and cant find anything about the lock animation. Also google says nothing. Its so frustrating
