Accessories First day with Seidio 1750 and noticeable difference

To be honest (and I have no doubt in what Dustin discovered at all) I had been using the Sedio 1750 but went and got the HTC 1500 battery based on the price and after 2 weeks, I can say that the Seidio still gives me several hours more life than the HTC 1500...a good 4 or 5 hours actually.

I too got my Seidio for $30

I say it a lot, not sure if people are annoyed about how many times I do say this - but the number one, bottom line in my opinion about battery life is going to be about cellular and wifi signal strength. Those are the two most power drains next to the screen brightness. but because those two can be on (wifi less than cellular - or cellular MORE than wifi) when the phone is "sleeping" - that can heavily impact battery life.

Because this phone seems to have some odd behavior with the bars vs dbm its difficult to manage the difference.

Absolutely agree 100%!
When I'm sleeping my phone is sleeping in airplane mode...

And I don't think a rational person would be annoyed with common sense!!;)

See you sound a little dismissive of what I am saying! Have you ever seen me make outlandish statements or comments? Ever??

Assuming you are just trying to be helpful, I hear what you are trying to say...This is my personal phone (I'm also burdened by a work phone) and I am very routine with it and my usage does not vary or fluctuate. The simple facts as you say, are that the my Seidio last a good 4-5 hours longer than the HTC 1500 I have.

I applaud Dustin on all the work he did and there is a very good chance all he says is accurate and I'm not discounting your statements because a lot of what you said does go on when we all discuss batteries, but there is nothing placebo about it. The Seidio just last longer.

I never said your claims were outlandish. Just that they don't fit the given hard scientific data about these two batteries. Either Dustin's tests were flawed by bad batteries or your claims are the result of some placebo. There's really no other way to look at it besides those two viewpoints.

See sabre, you're drawing a line in the sand that either me or Dustin is wrong...

Let me repeat myself, the Seidio 1750 gives me more than 4 hours more battery life than the HTC 1500, that is a fact. Placebo implies perception so there is nothing placebo about it! Had we been talking about 30 or even 60 minutes discrepancy? Or I just said "yeah, I think my Seidio might be lasting longer than my HTC" then Yeah, absolutely that could be placebo or perception or just varying usage.

The reality is that if one battery, charged with the phone off discharges to 15% 4 hours or more sooner than another, its simple math really.

Have you used both of these batteries and given them several weeks of real world use?

I hope you do not take this the wrong way, but unless you have both batteries, you are basing your opinion on information obtained from others and you have chosen to make a definitive statement based on that information. Do you see what I am saying?

I appreciate all of Dustins work, actually bought the HTC 1500 based on his info (plus the price was right ;)) and am keeping an open mind about his findings even though my personal experience has shown me contradictory information. You on the other hand have "chosen a stance" and decided to dismiss what someone else saw, that differs from that stance, as imagination.

I am not going to try and change your mind and I know you are not going to convince me that I am not getting what I am getting, so this is kind of a foolish endeavor! Unless you have done the testing or experienced the real world usage...I don't know what to tell ya!

P.S. Kinda funny how we can be on the same page when it comes to so many other aspects of the "Incredible Battery Situation"!! :p

You're getting defensive for no reason. I'm not saying it is one or the other. I'm saying that it has to be one or the other (but not both) because the Seidio cannot have only 10-15mAh more than the HTC 1500 but offer four more hours. That is impossible according to the laws of physics.

So, EITHER Dustin's test was flawed in some way OR human perception is a factor. It cannot be both in any shape or form. The HTC 1500 is in the mail right now, and I will not buy the Seidio based off Dustin's tests. I've said it several times before but objective hard numbers testing means a lot more to me than someone's not so specific or scientific day to day use figures.

If your battery offers good life over the HTC 1500, would you offer to send one and then the other to Dustin for testing? He'll reimburse you and it would be easy since you have a spare to use while he's testing the other.

What I think is afoot is that you got a fake 1500 that we've seen floating around on the internet and that's why you get such an improvement with the Seidio (which is roughly a 1500mAh plus a very small amount). Or your Seidio actually puts out the 1750mAh.

Either way they should be tested and we could see why you see the improvement you do. :D

..... Placebo implies perception ....
Not really. Placebo is actual and can be measured. The only real way you can determine if the Seidio effect is due to placebo is to wrap both of them so you can't see which is which. Then put a #1 on one and a #2 on the other and test for a week. Then pull off the wrapper and report back. Wouldn't you just shit if the 1500 came out ahead?

Absolutely! ;)

I do not believe the battery is a fake, but I suppose anything is possible and it WOULD explain the results.

Actually already PM'd Dustin about sending it out to him.

P.S. You're a sharp (guy/girl?) and from what I recall, we seem to paddle in the same direction pretty often...maybe the reason I got a little defensive is the way you originally came across that I could not possibly be seeing what I am seeing?? ;)

Guy. I have to be sharp for my job... ;)

If I seemed like I said you weren't seeing what you're seeing, it's bad wording. What I was referring to is that if Dustin's tests are accurate to your batteries, it wouldn't be possible. We need to test them and see why yours offer such a difference.

Jesus...I thought for a second you called me "guy" as in "Hey guy, how ya doing?" ;)

Exactly why I was so confused as to what I was seeing. Kinda torn though, part of me wants it to be fake because it would explain logically what I am experiencing but also don't want to feel ripped off.

I guess for $15 it is not a catastrophe!

I'd be willing to test both your 1500 and your 1750 :)

I might do that Dustin. Not sure I want to use the stock battery for a week though. ;) its actually still in the plastic.

Got your PM, I'll respond when I get to a computer later today.

Thanx!!!

today on the stock battery i went 5 hours solid listening to Pandora and mixzing. now I was not on the network i was wi fiing it .wifiing uses like 2 percent of battery power im at 82 percent or the rest of the day. BTW these little verizon jawbreakers headphones are nice. Once you get a good seal on your ear the bass is amazing for such a small driver.

purchased a 1750 didnt put it in phone until full charge first day on it so far no change from factory in length of use. will keep updated
