I want to get rid of HTC sense, but I don't want to give up nice things like...the android market!
I don't know what happened, but I installed cyanogenmod from ROM manager. I backed up all of my apps on titanium backup and flashed a backup using clockwork manager. I then flashed my new ROM with high hopes. Unfortunately, nothing worked after it was up. All of my apps were gone, ROM manager didn't even work, because it said it needed an update. The kicker was I couldn't install an update, because android market was not installed. It was a huge disappointment. I naturally freaked out, because I am a newbie and thought I trashed my phone. I downloaded the "vanilla" ROM from the Root sticky and was ready to start flashing away to hopefully at least recover my android market and be able to sync my 200+ military/civilian contacts that were locked in my Google account. I was then presented an option to restore using clockwork which I took. My phone is now back to its original rooted HTC Sense state again with all data. PHEW! Does anyone have any advice how I can get rid of sense without losing the market and my contacts? What is the perfect ROM? Thanks! - Ric
