First time contract is expiring on VZW, question?

face2off

I see the following when I log in to my account

"Upgrade Status You are eligible for New Every Two on 04/06/2011."

What kind of additional discount can I get on the Thunderbolt if I manage to wait till the 6th of April.

Thanks

If you're within a few weeks (sometimes as much as a month) away from an upgrade, if you call Customer Service, they'll sometimes bump up the date. Just remember that you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar....(if anyone uses old artsy-fartsy sayings anymore)...

I think the NE2 credit was either $30 or $50, depending on the how much $ your plan was (I am on a 1400 min plan and it is $50 for me).

You should call and check; but I think you will need to find the willpower to wait for that additional $30 or $50.

Just a little hint for dealing with these early upgrades, if the CS rep refuses to budge, ask them to get you to retentions (tell the CS that you're thinking about just canceling). The retentions agent will have more wiggle room when it comes to your upgrade date. Tell them that Sprint (or any other carrier) is offering you a $125 credit and that they currently have 4G phones available. Let the Retentions person know that you have no problem waiting for 4G availability, but that you'd like to apply your new-every-two discount early if possible. Good luck.
