First time doing a factory reset

quest7

Android Enthusiast
since the last update(4.3), I have been having issues with my stock browser freezing on some sites. I want to do a factory reset, but this is my first time. I downloaded Super Backup and ran that, also I am not rooted.

So, do I go ahead and run the factory reset and go to gmail to reinstall my apps and bookmark?

This is a good phone and this is the only new issue I have. Thanks everyone.

Is the browser the only problem youre having? If so, its maybe not worth a reset, theres plenty of other browsers
The google backup of your apps will just freshly download them from Play so their data/settings wont be intact

Yes it is the only problem. I tried running naked browser and had the same issues. Its like sometimes I can click and add a smiley icon to my or others post, on other sites I cannot click on a link to look at a jpg or video. But, I will try a different browsers again. Thanks.

Cool. If youre gona do a reset, the app Helium is about the best way to backup apps and their data without rooting  good luck mate

Rather than a full reset; why not go into settings > apps > find your browser and clear data and cache...does more or less the same thing as a reset and is completely painless.

Edit:

Another thought...this could be Flash related and nothing to do with the browser.

Never thought it could be flash related, thanks.

Edit: had flash installed but was still using stock browser(duh). I have dolphin browser now, will report back with results. It may help someone else with the same issues.

Okay, tried Firefox, naked browser and dolphin. And reinstalled flash and my settings is always on. Example of the problems. If I am reading Google news and tap on read more stories, nothing happens. I have to reset the phone to get it to work.
