Root first time rooting need help!

Hello everyonr this is my first time trying to root and i am quite confused.

I have a motorola droid bionic with .905 and 2.3.4 android version.

I am trying to root my phone so i can connect my sixaxis controller to my phone.

I have the motorola drivers on my pc and i have motofail.

I connected my phone to my computer via usb cable and set my phone to charge only and enabled usb debugging. Then i ran motofail and it rebooted my phone 3 times and said the exploit was complete.

Well my phone still is not rooted and i am wondering what i am doing wrong because i followed the directions to root my phone but i am not granted superuser access.

Any tips or suggestions for a rookie will be greatly appreciated!

is the super user app in your app drawer?

I have used the rootchecker app and it says i do not have root access. I also do not have the superuser app

You can try Razrs Edge or download House of Bionic (Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss) to root.

I had trouble using motofail as well in windows... I had to use my linux box and the Linux/Mac version of motofail and it was a breeze.

I finally rooted my phone! All I did was re-download motofail and everything went smooth. I even have my ps3 controller working on my phone right now.
