First time smartphone user... with question..

Hey... how're you doing...

Due to my wifes request, we finally got our first smartphones a couple of weeks ago... It took me forever to get a cell phone. I'm too miserly to keep up to date on anything but video game consoles... but I'm enjoying my LG Androids phones features, and had a question... so here I am!

I noticed a while back that I had a 'search by camera' option that came up when I pushed the context sensitive menu button while in the google search app. It allows me to scan stuff in with the camera and search for it.

A few days ago it dissapeared... where is it?

Which LG phones did you get, in particular? We might have a forum devoted to it that I could point you to that will help you get the most out of them.

My phone model# is LG-P769

I've seen the same site you linked before, but when I go to menu->settings (which I assume I do by pressing the context sensitive menu button at the bottom of the phone when I am currently in the Google search screen), I do not see a 'search by camera' settings.

On a different site, someone posted a reply regarding a SW update and she also was complaining about the 'search by camera' option no longer being available. Perhaps they've removed it?... Does that happen, where a feature is actually removed? I know there are third party apps that do the same thing, but I'd rather use whats built into Android when possible.

Have you seen the app Google goggles? Sounds like what you are talking about.
Regarding if it was there and removed in an update. I don't know. It is certainly possible. :)
I will check and see if we have a forum for your phone when I can get to a pc.
