Help Five weeks in and already getting a replacement.

I have only had my Optimus five weeks and they're replacing it. It randomly crashes during phone calls, freezing, rebooting itself and leaving the people on the receiving end a little peeved. I did a hard reset and it still continues to do it. It's frustrating to get something new only to have it tank so early on. Has anyone experienced this?

Hello Njcellgeek74.

You'd be amazed at how many users of various Android devices manage to remedy big issues such as you list by investigating from the standpoint of it being an app/widget that is causing the whole thing.

It's a bit of a pain, but the process of elimination is to remove all 3rd party apps, reboot and then re-install one of them. Use the device for an hour or so, then re-install another one... etc, until the device begins to behave as you say.

The "usual suspects" are: weather apps/widgets, syncing apps/widgets, alarm apps and any app or widget that appears in "running services."

Sometimes it'll take two days to find it, then it'll dawn on the user that this or that well-liked app is not playing nice with the system.
