Fix coming 6/15.... or now

Just think of the lost Angry Birds stars. Gasp.

There are multiple angry birds score/star backup programs. One of them is actually a cheat program that lets you alter your saved score/star count (not sure why you'd want to do that =P)

Angry Cheaters (older versions didn't do rio - not sure if it's been updated since)
AngryBirdsBackup (does Rio)

Useful when transitioning from one phone to another...or for doing a full wipe.

Everyone is 100% sure this is the build coming out tomorrow? Do I need to be on .*13 to do it?

fear of wiping your phone...

it's a tedious ordeal to set your phone to its current state without root & titanium backup

yeah i agree but i just had such a horrible experience that a fresh start was very tempting. also, the battery lasts sooo much longer without the random reboots killing my battery :)

I do not believe it is coming out tomorrow.
Yea, can't always believe the documentation, right? Haha, especially when it comes to HTC. I'll watch out for reports of people getting it tomorrow before I download MR1 and install it. I'd rather avoid the random reboot issue if I could.

Well I updated my software this morning but know its not the new update. It's dated March 1st and I do not have the option to turn LTE on/off.

Hopefully I do not start having random reboots because my TB was working fine. So far so good (2hrs in).

Since not everyone probably caught this...

So no OTA update as of 9:00am in North Carolina. But then again it seems the check for new updates is flooded with requests or down as I got an error 4 out of 5 times. So I could be wrong.

Mine downloaded MR1 all on it's own this morning. I deferred installing it until I see people getting MR2. A coworker called VZW last this morning after his phone rebooted itself and the CSR asked two coworkers about the update. One said today, the other said the 30th.

jcase posted on Twitter yesterday that the MR2 is delayed... if not cancelled altogether:

Looks like MR2 delayed, possibly canceled for yet another new build

I believe it and wouldn't expect an OTA to be released at least until July... if not later.

Add to that the fact that VZW hasn't updated their PDF file here - Software Update: HTC Thunderbolt™ Available Starting 5/13/11 - with information on the new update... it will be a while. I think they typically put the PDF up about a week or so prior to actually releasing the OTA.

Hopefully that means they're rolling it into the Gingerbread update if they're still trying to meet their previously announced Q2 date.

Even if they killed it. The update works and i have no more issues with this phone. I am glad I updated it. I was about to demand a charge if this didn't come along. So I mustache been crazy lol.

Ive been reading Jcase's twitter tryin to find out whats up with the next build. One of the posts said that they werent going to have a new leak.

"

@d1g1K won't be any early more leaks due to past fiasco."

So there's no specific time frame for the update:

Verizon: No specific date for ThunderBolt update | Android Central

ALSO, Monday of this week I received a call from HTC and spoke with a software engineer. He was returning my calls from HTC's technical support line and was calling me to ask a few questions about my phone. This is EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID, "We quite frankly, don't know exactly what's causing the phone to reboot at this time. We don't understand why it's just the Thunderbolt and not any of our other 4G devices. Right now we don't know if it's the firmware, the radio, or possibly a bad chipset." *please note: I have this man's conversation recorded as well as additional contact information for record*

His conversation was probably the strangest damned conversation I've ever had. He seemed more concerned with what Verizon was doing for me in the process; "What are they doing to compensate you?" My reply was that Verizon wasn't responsible for the problem and that HTC was and that shouldn't be his concern.

Seems to me as if HTC really screwed the proverbial pooch on this one. I think it's probably one of the reason's why the MR2 has been scrapped as of right now.

I have too much invested in this phone however, to just turn it back in for another one or to find a suitable replacement at the moment.

I don't see why he would say they don't know what's behind the random reboots. The random reboots are most certainly caused by the last OTA. People didn't start complaining about it really until that rolled out. I had never had any reboots and then I DLed that update and now I have reboots. I never put it on my wife's phone and to this day she's never had a random reboot.

Maybe, but I did the update, and I've had perhaps five reboots total! We're talking one reboot, then two, three days go by, then another reboot... then a few more days go by.

It's not really even a big issue for me, but I can understand if the phone constantly reboots, it's a MAJOR problem.

My only point is... why does my phone have almost no problems, and other people's TB have major problems? Some people report not having ANY reboots!

It's not as simple as you make it out, I don't believe....

But what within the last ota caused it? They know it was in the last ota but they do not know what it is exactly. If a car manufacturer knows something is causing many of a specific model to crash they don't recall the cars and say well something is wrong they try to find the root of the problem recall for that reason and fix the issue
