Fix for silent call bug

My phone has recently started having the silent bug, but only since the OTA update a few days ago. This is the 3rd Eris I've been sent. The first one was unresponsive, the 2nd had the horrible silent bug, the 3rd was fine....until the other day.

*sigh*

I have missed 2 calls since then because of it. I also have horrible lag everywhere in the phone that I did not have before.

My phone was almost flaw free until the last update.

Really sorry to hear that. I have had the silent bug daily - it's a pain.

BUT which OTA you are referring to?
The BIG 1.5->2.1 OTA or the last smaller OTA (the so-called July 17 OTA)?

My and for most people the silent bug showed up after the upgrade from 1.5->2.1. I went through 1 phone replacement. This last upgrade solved my problem and I have not had the bug for over a week.

I just ordered an eris to use for work. I just remembered why I hated it so much (and I havent even got it yet) but seeing that this update workes for everyone Im thrilled that they got their shit together.

Now my question is should I be able to check for updates and download it ota (asumming that the last owner didnt do the update). This radio does not make it un rootable with the current methods either right?

On the about phone screen what do I need to look for to know wether I have the correct update before rooting?

You can check the phones software: Settings/About phone/Software information.

There is a notification bar on top and it annouces if an update is available.
So far any update, patch to Eris also was made available on one of the dowload sites for those who can't wait (like me) till the OTA reaches them.

Since MR4 ive actually had worse dialer lag, however call audio quality was improved. Moto droid will be here in a few days so yeah...end of my eris experience :/.

I haven't had the silent bug since the most recent update. (Still have a few other bugs yet though.)

By radio version .27, does Rick620 mean the baseband version? Mine reads 2.42.01.04.27
