fix to the multiple text msg

hey, so im sorry if this has been covered before, but i didnt find a solution to this multiple text msg problem anywhere. so i decided to do a little experiment of my own.
i am on cm7.2 7-28-11 on metro pcs. i always get double text messages from ANYONE who sends me a text. so i tried out a couple things and i found one that makes it stop for good.
i first downloaded go sms pro. then i went to applications, went to messenger, cleared data. then went to the msg app and disabled auto retrive and notifications, thhen i went back to applications setting and went to messenger and pressed force stop. after that do not open up stock messenger app. then i went to go sms pro and there is a setting that says enable notification, check it and your all set.
ever since that i NEVER got a double text or sent a doulbe text, AND go sms pro just looks even better.

well i texted me brother (t-mobile) and my friend w/ (metro) , and still got double messages from both...
kinda annoyed by it
 
Had the same problem...Installed latest version of GOSMS, and the problem seemed to resolve itself. Now if i can just figure out why in my contacts even though i can choose custom ringtones, it still uses the default...
 
ok found another answer. today i called metropcs from my phone, *611
talked to customer service. told them that my phone keeps getting and sending double messages. they said they had an update to their "towers" and a lot of ppl have been complaining about that. all they do is refresh your phones signal. and WAHLAH! no more double texts.

IN SHORT: dial *611, talk to customer service, ask them to refresh signal.
METRO ONLY, prolly cud do for cricket too
