Fix your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 laggy auto-rotation

Have you ever waited it for more than 4 seconds (or more) so it can rotate to the way you're holding it?
Have you ever put it on the desk and it went landscape by itself?
Has it ever got stuck on landscape mode until you restart it?

If you had any of these issues with your Note 2 auto-rotation then don't worry, it's not a hardware problem, it's the stock TouchWiz UI. Just install any other launcher (I recommend Go Launcher EX) and the issue will be resolved.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for that. There are so many other good launchers as well....Nova, Apex that do an even better job than Go.

This happens a little with my phone. But not so bad to make me switch to a different launcher. Mostly because I use some of the touchwiz widgets. But, speaking of launchers. Everyone has thier favorite. ...

Of course every one has their favorite launcher. The good news is that you can uninstall the Go Launcher EX if you prefer your own launcher and guess what? the fix remains; the auto-rotation won't lag anymore. I don't know what Go Launcher EX does to the system but it surely fixes the auto-rotation lag even if you uninstall it and go back to the stock launcher. This is a personal experience I just wanted to share.

My point on saying that everyone has their favorite is just that nothing more. Most people find one they like and become loyal to it.
I would be curious to know what launcher you switched to from go launcher? I find it strange that any launcher would as you say "fix" the rotation. Not saying I don't believe you. I simp!y think there may be another reason. Over the years I have tried just about every launcher out there. Including go. I found it to be one of the heaviest. Lots of memory usage. On the other hand. Lots of customization. Also one of the most costly. That is for the paid version.
Any light launcher should help with lag. Including rotation. So, if you were to switch to another launcher from the store and away from go. Yes, then it makes sense. If back to stock touchwiz? Hmm. Yes, that's weird. But if it worked for you...great.

What happened with me is so simple, I had a laggy auto-rotation with the stock launcher (TouchWiz UI), so I installed Go launcher, no more lags, I then uninstalled Go launcher and went back to the stock launcher, still no lag, that's all. I didn't do any thing else to fix the lag whatsoever, just installed Go then uninstalled it. It's strange I know, but that's exactly what happened.

Well, I guess stranger things have happened...lol. As I said before. The rotation on the note does not bother me that much. Other wise. I would probably try it. But, I'll keep this in mind if it gets to bad. Thanks for your help. Its good to know..

Well I'm using Nova and I have exactly this problem still, so I'm guessing TouchWiz isn't the culprit.

I have it really bad. Sometimes it just flat out won't recognise that it's tilted, and I have to turn it 180 to realise
