Step 6 says to stop if the md5 doesn't match 6991368ee2deaf182048a3ed9d3c0fcb, not to reboot and to go into the irc channel for help.

No one is in the chat room on irc.

I got distracted by my kids fighting and managed to skip Step 4.

I had read elsewhere yesterday not to downgrade if I see ** Security Warning ** when in the boot loader. It says to download and use PG05IMG_Mecha-VERIZON_WWE_1.12.605.9_Radio_1.16.00.023r_NV_8k_1.41_9k_release_176865_signed.zip.

Since I missed Step 4 the md5 check at step 6 says bfa2f3ac5eb3bcf67af23509b4081999.

So I fsked up. Gaaah!

I have a copy of PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.12.605.6_Radio_1.16.00.0223r_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_174685_signed.

Do I use that in place of the downgrade file in Step 4? I'll have to reboot into the bootloader. But if Step 6 says not to, then.... ?

Ok, I held my breath and rebooted. I had to pop the battery a couple of times and put my SD card into an adapter. I also had to try a couple of different vzw ROMs before boot loader took it. I had to use the .9 zip file.

I finally booted to a stock system running .9.

While I certainly don't advise it, if anyone is careless enough to overlook step 4, there is a way to recover.
