Root Fixing Qremote?

well, our device still is not supported via that sdk. according to this http://developer.lgmobile.com/MOBILE_HELP/index.jsp?topic=/lge.mobilesdk.LGQRemote.api/html/Introduction/Introduction/Supported Devices.htm

still cant imagine it being that far off, but i did hear we have a very nerfed ir blaster. also we have no ir reciver, so no learning ability can ever exist.

also this is for making apps to communicate directly with qremote, so if you wanted to make a power button widget you could with the sdk, but the button would still have to talk to the qremote apk and the qremote apk will talk with the system. this is not the source code of quickremote itself.

well there is a bright side, it means you can create a widget for cyanogenmod. you would just need the qremote apk and the quickset apk's for our phone (and support for the ir port). now what would be more helpful i think would be for somebody to decompile the quickset apk's from ours and the g2 and try to cram in some more resources. so we have more codes available to us.

Yeah, i just thought this would give us more codes and devices based on the post that led me to the page:
Qremote SDK and some other SDKs were released this month and are available for download.
I know many people with an LG Optimus f6 dislike the Quickremote app and this will allow developers to build their own IR remote apps specifically for LG devices. It includes codes for many types of electronics instead of just A TV and Cable box.
The SDK is for Android API 16 at least (Android 4.1) and should be able to communicate with the Optimus F6s IR blaster.
I plan to try this SDK myself but my app development knowledge isn't great.
I guess he didn't know what he was talking about. :/

well the way it works is lg has the ir blasters interface hardcoded in a proprietary manner, in order to keep it closed source they distribute the quickset sdk, this sdk has all of the device codes that lg has built for quickset. the quickremote software is a native gui to edit the active remotes in the quickset database. what you can do with access to the sdk tools is create third party widgets and apps to do the same functions that the native gui (quickremote.apk) can do. although, you could go further. you could make an app that powers on 4 devices with one button.

I noticed when flashing the zv5 update I could not access the remote until I accepted the lg terms... Wonder if that's necessary to it working all together?
