First let me explain. My Boost Mobile Galaxy S2 (Epic Touch 4G) has been flashed to hell and back with over 40 different roms. Over the last 10 days my phone was rebooting and throwing errors while on Cyanogenmod 11 Dailies. So I tried to flash to a previous version when during the flash it turned off and soft bricked. So at this time I opened the Odin mode with Power+Volume Down and did a oneclick restore with SPH-D710BST_GC01_1014517_Stock_Restore.
Next I did the standard root with Odin/Agat/superuser and rebooted my fresh from factory phone with root access. Next I downloaded my favorite roms CM11 and it gave the Status 7 Error. Tried CM10.2 same error. Then several other Roms were tried and ALL gave this error. So I found that sometimes this phone will fail to install the modem with the oneclick stock roms while still reporting the correct one. So I was told to try slimbean to get all of the internals back to a working format. At this point I was willing to try anything. So I downloaded Slimbean and placed in my SD card directory. Next using Agat's recovery mode Power Button+Volume UP I loaded the zip file and installed it. After booting and allowing it to complete I again went into recovery mode Power Button+Volume UP and Slimbean uses CWM for recovery and then I tried to install a Rom and it NOW worked 100%. Repeated again twice through the process to test and repeat. Since I have seen many of these errors on various boards I figured may as well post here where more people will have access to the fixes.
