Fixing the big scratch on my screen.

Well it finally happened. I scratched the crap out of my screen. Have no idea how since I am very careful but oh well - nice 2 inch scratch right down the middle.

I've been reading about various fixes. I'm intrigued by the idea of clear nail polish. This works well on glass, but I am afraid the nail polish remover used to wipe away any excess might melt this screen.

Any thoughts on that or other solutions? Thanks.

Yeah. I thought about getting an antiglare screen which appears kind of frosted and the would probably hide the scratch. I can really only sew the scratch under bright ambient light anyway.

Yea I agree with traceamount. My buddy had a pretty bad gash on his screen. He put a screen guard on it after, and it hid it pretty well.

Try it... Head into Sprint store with a cotton ball with nail polish remover on it and when no one is looking rub it on the demo... Let us know the outcome... :)

OK, so here is the question then. Is the EVO screen plastic or glass?

I love this question.

The two classifications aren't exclusive. If I had to pick one, it's more suitable to call it glass than plastic. Though it's not plain silica glass like windows, if that's what you're asking.

I don't think finger nail remover will melt glass. Will it?

Yes. The reason I asked is that fingernail Polish remover would not damage glass which is why clear fingernail Polish works well to fix scratches in glass. Wish there was some way to test this without fully commiting ;-)
