Help Flash 10.1

zwick

Lurker
Got the tablet yesterday and love it. So far so good.

Except for one issue... There where some websites w/ imbedded video that wouldn't play.

The video said it required flash 10.1. When i clicked on the link i was directed to a page that said this device does not support this version of flash or something like that.

The tablet is updated and running 4.3

Videos from other websites + youtube plays just fine.

any ideas why this is happening?

Adobe no longer supports mobile devices for Flash. However, it does work. You need 2 things. 1.) the Flash .apk. 2.) a Browser that supports Flash such as Firefox, Maxthon, Dolphin, etc. Chrome does not support it. You can get the Flash .apk here: Archived Flash Player versions

You will need to go into settings/developers options and allow installing apps from sources other than the Play Store temporarily.

Android doesn't support flash anymore, there are some workarounds to get it to work but flash doesn't have all the current security updates.

You can download and install the legacy flash here.

Archived Flash Player versions

Look for Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives - Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.69)

Then install the Dolphin browser or another browser that supports flash, chrome does not. With the Dolphin Browser you need to enable flash by going into

settings/web content/flash player - turn it on

Or you can try the Puffin Web Browser which is a paid app that supports flash without having to install the legacy flash drivers. This browser works somehow like this, it loads the flash video on their end and streams it to you. I've had issues with this where the video is out of sync and the quality is low.

Hope that helps and if there are more options please do share.
