Root Flash arhd

1. Back up app data and let your phone download the apps from the martket, then restore the data.

2. That's just what a nandroid backup is for - you will return to EXACTLY as the phone was when you did the backup though... I restored a backup that was a month or so old (in error) and ended up loosing quite a few texts that I had received whilst running a different ROM.

(note that this will not be the same as running an RUU - your phone will still be rooted and, should you send it to HTC, they will be able to tell that it's rooted)

You say htc can tell... What about a network like orange or Vodafone

Also el. I'm gonna try re flashing a rom. But I just wanna make sure... What happens after the rom is flashed successfully? What do I do to get to the honescreen? Thanks alot

You should be taken back to the main screen in clockwork. It will either say "Go Back" or "Reboot Now" at the top of the screen. It should also tell you somewhere the flash has been successful. (it differs ROM to ROM)

Aah, you see I was there.. Every time I tried to reboot or power off it came up with the clockwork logo. Pressed the power button again. And I was back where I started...

Hmmm...if you used SuperWipe that should have installed 4EXT Recovery at least it did for me. Maybe a dodgy recovery flash? Where you at with everything now mehta?

Still on the stock rom. Might try flashing as soon as I find out what went wrong in the first place.
PS, i haven't been here long enough to know who you are but welcome back :-)

So thats stock rom but rooted with radio and eng s-off and supercid?

What's bootloader?

The bootloader is one of the first bits of software to kick in to life when you power on your phone.

Take the battery out, put it back in and turn the phone on whilst holding the volume down button. You'll be taken to a white screen with 3 skate boarding androids at the bottom. At the top, it should say something along the lines of ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF. If you've ENG S-OFF, it will say ACE PVT ENG S-OFF.

Edit: Sniped by seconds!

Is there a way to do it without downgrading? Otherwise how do i downgrade. And can I restored my nandroid of my current stock rom afterwards?

Right to have created a nandroid backup and have clockworkmod recovery image installed your already rooted so no downgrading is necessary. Just use the ENG S-OFF tool supplied in that link.

The steps you need are:

1.Connect your phone to a computer (make sure you have USB Debugging enabled. Connect charge only!)

2.Open my "Desire HD easy s-off.exe", click "S-OFF it"! Allow possible SuperUser request on your phone.

3.There could be force closes after the process, just reboot and everything will be fine.

4.Done. (Remember to click the thanks button)

Now that your device is S-OFF, and you can get Rom manager from the market, which will install a ClockWorkMod recovery for you. Just open it up and tap "Flash ClockworkMod recovery".

From what I've gathered of this thread is that after installing ARHD you couldn't get out of recovery and reboot properly, so I'm presuming you did a format and factory reset and restored your nand backup of your stock ROM to continue using your phone?

If thats the case ensure you download the tool and follow those steps above.

Without ENG S-OFF Clockwork will not work properly. Once thats done reopen ROM Manager again and allow superuser requests then ensure your running the latest Clockworkmod and if not update it first.

Then with the latest ARHD and superwipe.zip on your SD card boot into recovery again and flash by choosing install from sd card. First choose superwipe and then proceed to flash the ROM zip. Another thing you will need to do to ensure you get the best performance afterwards is install the latest recommended radio.img.

Let me know when you get to that stage as I can give you everything you need to make it a simple follow the instruction on screen process.

All of that above will not work unless you have the superuser app in your app drawer and root access first. No downgrading should be required if you already have ship s-off.
