Help Flash Blockers!

You may have never had to install drivers but have you tried playing a game? windows has roughly 30% better performance on the same hardware as Os x. Apple has there system to locked down. Im sure Nvidia would be happy to right drivers.

I have Windows 7 and OS X on my Macbook..The only same games I have across both platforms are City of Heroes and the Sims 3, and both look infinitely better and work faster with higher renders on the OS X side.

And as far as locked down, I haven't really run into anything where I said "Boy, I wish I had Windows so I could do ______!" excluding loading leaked OS' on my BlackBerry, which is why I got 7.

lol I agree whole heartedly! I am a gamer and when I started computers back in the day mac had oh about 10 games totaly lame! Windows was pumping them out along with software. Couldn't find a mac tech with in a 100 kilometers! They lacked in software and compatibility when they first came out. I agree yes they were user friendly, and yes they didn't need much upkeep, but everything was made for Windows. I would rather use Linux over a mac for everything else other then gaming. Plus I have now discovered the best anti-virus program ever! They have never had a zero day threat get by their detection!

Maybe your Windows PC needs a upgrade. Every game I've tried on my PC looks amazing! I do have a top of the line high end PC of course! ;)

Spoken like someone who's never been exposed to a real gaming Windows PC. I'd say something about running Crysis on your oh-so-precious Macbook, but then I remember nobody ever bothered porting it for OS X because OS X's GPU drivers and GPL support are pure, unadulterated garbage, which all in all makes it a worthless gaming platform.

Also? The Sims 3 and City of Heroes are both low-end games that don't need much more than shitty, cheap GPUs, which... is what your Macbook has--not that I expect an Apple user to recognize what a GPU even is. Now try playing a hardware-pushing, demanding game and we can talk.

I maxed out my extreme gaming pc on Fallout 3 when it came out and it looked freaking amazing! The sun ray's through the tree's even the twigs had shawdows lol looked so real!!!!

Top of the line ASUS MB with a 3.8GHz quad black edition, 6GB of OC 1333Mhz tripple channel ram with a ATI radeon 5870 1GB DDR5... and that was only one card almost got two for crossfire but decided it was good enough for now seeing that all the games I played I maxed out and they looked phenomenal! ;)

I've used Alienware gaming computers, and they look pretty and all that, but clearly neither you, nor grannysand or Bill Gates or whatever his name is read the statement BrendanMurphy posted.

TelusMilestone: This is why I stated that the OS X looks better, to me, for these games that I play.

grainysand: Did I ever say anything about the Crysis engine? No. Did I ever say I played graphic intensive games on my computer? No. Did I ever claim that a Macbook would beat a top-end gaming computer? No. What I said was that the games that I play look better on the OS X side.

You guys need to get your heads out of your own asses and stop making assumptions. I am in no way claiming that OS X is a better gaming platform than Windows.

However, what I am claiming, is that for my needs - and I bolded that so that even you guys can see it - OS X does enough. I don't play games on my computer - I have an Xbox for that. Clearly, if I did, I would have more than City of Heroes or the Sims 3. I enjoy the casual simulation game, clearly, neither of which certainly do not require a Crysis engine, as I don't need to actually see the chlorophyll growing in the leaves.

Regardless, gaming is not what a computers OS is about, nor does it pose any real benefit to the merit of the OS itself. Obviously OS X got something right since Microsoft seems to bent on modelling itself after OS X. Graphic-based? OS X did it first. Widgets? OS X did it first.

Well it has been proven with SC2 that you will get 30% better frame rates on windows then os x at the same settings.

When was this study performed? I forgot that I also have SC1 and 2, and I do not notice any loss in frame rate on either OS, obviously running on the same hardware with the same regular settings.

Mac's still suck for the games that I play. That's all I use my PC for.

Article Quote
"At hunch.com, a website that helps consumers make purchasing decisions based on their answers to multiple-choice questions, analysts examined the profiles of 76,000 Hunch users who identified themselves as a Mac or PC user and came up with a few predictable caricatures.
The 2009 report found that Mac users want to be perceived as "different" and "unique," and trend toward independent films, specialized comedians and design-centric magazines. They describe themselves as verbal, conceptual and risk-takers, and have a distinct esthetic, be it in bold colours, retro-design or highly stylized art.
PC people, meanwhile, think of themselves as team players and favour the practical over the theoretical. They enjoy sports, want to be entertained and fall in line with mainstream opinion. PC people describe themselves as numbers-oriented, factual, steady, and hard workers.
Mac users find humour in TV shows like The Office, while PC users are more likely to watch Everybody Loves Raymond. Mac users would opt for the Mini Cooper while PC users are more likely to choose a truck or Dodge Charger. Mac users trend to magazines like Wallpaper and Harper's, while PC users read Sports Illustrated and Reader's Digest."

Ok, so I read Sports Illustrated, drive a truck, and play football. Where does that put me on that list?

You can do every study you want; I could say right now that right handed people are 76% more likely to like the colour purple. That doesn't mean that out of 100 right-handed people, 76 are going to like purple.

Regardless, what does that have to do with StarCraft, exactly?

Nothing I was just stating my opinion and showing a study I found online seems you take this stuff pretty serious! :D :D It's all good and I'm sure you don't really care, neither do I but when you discuss PC VS Mac you always get some people roared up and ready to fight their point on why one is better over the other :)

LOL! This thread was supposed to be about Flash on Android but you guys have turned it into one of those "discussions" about which OS is the best. :D

Anyway, GlitchZero has failed as an Apple fanboy by installing Windows 7 on his macbook and by purchasing an Android smartphone instead of the iphone. I am sure somewhere out there, Steve Jobs is crying right now. :p

And about the best OS, its Windows when it comes to personal computers. It can do everything that OS X can and many other things that OS X can't like playing Crysis for example (its CryEngine by the way not "Crysis Engine" and the developer is Crytek not "Crysis Tek". LOL! :D). OS X is only good for its eye candy. Like its font smoothing for example which you can also have in Windows now with the help of software like ezgdi and gdipp. And yes, I know about Final Cut Pro but I am sure Adobe Premiere is just as good. People most likely say that Final Cut Pro is the best for video editing just like most common people in my country would say Nokia is the best "phone".

Console gaming? Crysis isn't even available for consoles. Besides keyboard and mouse are best for first person shooters. :p

By the way, TelusMilestone, it seems to me like Steve Jobs has successfully brainwashed you into hating Flash for mobile devices. He probably wanted to brainwash you into buying the iphone 4 too but for whatever reason wasn't successful since you own a Milestone. :p Oh, and I mentioned the ipad because when it was newly released many were having trouble figuring out how to carry it with them everywhere they go but you claimed that you can can carry your laptop/netbook (which I am pretty sure is bigger than an ipad) with you everywhere you go. Somehow, I find that hard to believe. :p

I hate flash for my PC... wait no I hate flash all together because I hate advertising. Most flash is advertising, just more visual/verbal diarrhea I don't need to know! I own a Milestone 1) it's Motorola and they invented the cell phone 2) It's Android and well that speaks for itself 3) It was the best phone out when I bought it :p

As for the size of my netbook your wrong as well it's smaller then the maxi pad... err wait.. ya you know .... It might not have as big as a screen or look as sexy but looks are not everything as most girls would say (the ugly ones of course)

My netbook running Linux
8.9(h) in x 6.3(w) in x 1.3(d) in; Weight: 2 lbs

So mine is a bit thicker... most like it like that ;)

Crappy never would I buy in a million years or if you paid me iPad

189.7 mm (7.47 in) (w)
