Root FLASH Fever!

Hey guys I had some time on my hands on Sunday or Monday evening and (that's when I tend to get into 'trouble'!) thought I'd look at the android forum(s) - G3 in particular. To my surprise I discovered that there were some new ROM's out there for our G3's so I did what any amateur 'dev' would do and that is to....FLASH that sucker

The ROM was the official CM 12.1 athe separate gapps package. I made the 'requisite' nandroid in case blah blah blah...

Well, I dl'd TiBackup from the Play Store once the rom settled in for a few minutes as well as supersu. TiB was never granted SU and I was never able to get SuperSU to 'upgrade' using either of the two methods offered. (I later realized that I should have tried side loading the update but didn't think about it at the time.) I know it's been quite a while since I have flashed roms so it's very likely I'm forgetting a step or two...?? I'd really like to upgrade to LP if for no other reason than to 'see' what all the hooplah is about! Any suggestions? TIAFR

Do other root apps gain SU access?

Hey Mike! I hadn't let google repopulate my apps because I wanted to do it with TiB, so I can't say with any certainty that any others did...

I had an issue with TB not being able to access root privileges once....I went into the TB app, hit menu, scroll down to the bottom under "special features" and hit the "reload application" option... it will ask for SU permission again.
Try that bud!

Well I had to manually install the UpdateSU zip file through TWRP and BAM! Gonna try out this lolly pop 5.1.1 for a bit

Can/Will somebody FAMILIAR with the process of using TiB to get up and running after a new ROM flash PLEASE step up and teach me (and probably MANY others) just HOW to RESTORE data and maybe an app or two. Hell, I can't seem to locate WHERE my backups are! I would love to have a 10, 15, 25 step (or however many it takes) checklist of WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN PRIOR TO LOSING THE OLD ROM AND AFTER THE NEW ROM IS INSTALLED. It doesn't seem to be a too big a request to me because most YouTubes on TiB make it appear to be the EASIEST way to restore after flash. It probably is, I JUST CAN'T SEEM to get it to work.

Sorry for being a bit upset with this issue but I can't stand knowing that something is suppost to work AND IT DOESN'T - or at least, I can't seem to figure it out

LOL, I THINK I've deciphered this to some degree!...

At some point I must have moved my backup storage for TiB to my ext card and there was a conflict with that and where my new install of TiB was looking. So for the time being, I am slowly getting it back...
