Does anybody know if this is possible on the Desire. I've seen threads on XDA for the Nexus One.

My stable, always go back to rom is dGB with 65Mb hboot. But when going to any other rom I always have to flash a new hboot and then flash it back when reverting to dGB. It's ok keeping a nandroid on the sd card but if I could keep and flash hboot when away from the pc it would be great.

I'm not aware of anyone having tried this on the Desire. Didn't think it was possible to flash hboot from recovery - guess you live and learn ;).

You can anyway flash hboot without a computer using a PB99IMG.zip. Alpharev supply a number of their hboots in this form, and I used to use them - I have indeed flashed hboot while walking to a train! You flash these from hboot rather than from recovery. Full instructions at alpharev.nl.

The dGB hboots don't exist in that form though. In principle you could take one of the alpharev hboot .zips and swap the hboot.img for the dGB one. I'd guess that would work, but when talking about hboot I'm not really tempted to try it, 'cos if anything goes wrong that's the end of the phone.

So personally I'll accept the minor inconvenience of having to wait until I have a computer to do this.
