i heard a rumour that iplaye and flash did not work on the latest jelly bean products.

Does i player and youtube work ok on the note 2?

I'm not familiar with iplayer, but YouTube works fine and if you sideload the latest Flash apk, it will work in Firefox. It will not work in Chrome. Chrome has never supported Flash.

YER USING STOCK BROWSER WITH THE FLASH APK INSTALLED, WORKS GREAT FOR IPLAYER ETC. whoops sorry for shouting. get tvcatchup from play market, i use that more than iplayer etc, i was only using the sites to watch live tv, that prog does it all if in uk.

what does sideloading mean?

Side-loading means putting an app on your sd-card (internal or external) and installing that app from the sd-card.

Once you put an app (.apk file) onto your sd-card, then go to "Settings / Security" and then make sure "Unknown Sources" is checked. Then go to your sd-card, touch the app and it installs.

That is side-loading.
