Root Flash Player 10.1

Lurker
Does anyone know how to get flash player on a rooted 2.2 Eris? I currently have the Nonsensikal rom v13.2.. if that makes a difference.

There is no way yet to get Flash 10.1 on an Eris 2.2 Cyanogen ROM. There probably will not be - Flash is not supported by Adobe on the ARM processor that runs the Eris.

after doing some research I learned that adobe is only making flash available for ARMv7 devices.

Our phones have an ARMv6 Processor.

whatever, I hate flash anyways.

Somewhere on xda it had been mentioned that a group was working on trying to get the flashlite.apk (generic flash app for 2.1 eris)

It's just a matter of isolating the HTC framework code needed to run it since it's one of those apps that are heavily integrated with Sense, and then somehow implementing it into a given framework such as CM.

Haven't really looked into it in a while. Maybe after we get a Sense based Froyo we'll have that working for us.

That really is a bummer. I really like Nonsensikal, but will miss flash. So the question will be for me to stick with Froyo, or go back to xtrROM.

If you are talking about the Youtube app, no, the Youtube app uses an H.264 player, and not flash.

Fortunately the Skyfire browser can view a lot of Flash content, although I wouldn't use it for my regular web browsing.

If you use Skyfire occasionally, it's handy to pay ($1, as I recall) for the Quick App Clean Cache app, so that you can (relatively) quickly & easily clear Skyfire's cache, or the cache of other apps that you are ready to clear.
