I have a Verizon HTC one m8 and I'm trying to flash the stock recovery so I can download the new OTA, but it doesn't seem to be working? The steps I follow are:
1. Download recovery.img (I tried two different sites to ensure I got the stock recovery for Verizon variant)
2. Place in android folder
3. Open command prompt
4. Reboot phone into boot loader then fastboot mode
5. Run command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
It seems to be successful on command prompt. It doesn't say any issues. Even gives me a time it took to send/write recovery. However when I rebooted my phone it still shows the red text about this build for develement only and the OTA won't install. It turns to a red triangle with an explanation mark.
Am I doing something wrong?
