Root Flash which ROM?

Hi,

Please help.

I am currently running the "ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1
and once I have created a nandroid backup, which ROM should I flash? It is not clear in the guide.

It is not rooted (I don't think) it just flashed the recovery image and so now what ROM should I put on? I want Froyo + Sense 2.2 but the phone is not yet rooted? So what do I do.

I am sitting with the clockworkmod recovery menu right now.

Well, which ROM do you want? If you like, you can just keep your current one. Select "Reboot" from the menu and you're done.

I want it rooted so I can install Froyo + Sense

But don't I have to flash it with a stock desire ROM first?

What exactly have you done so far? It sounds like you've already rooted it if you're looking at ClockworkMod.

If you want Froyo with Sense then the best option is probably the MoDaCo ROM, but be aware than all Desire Froyo ROMs are unofficial and have some issues. You can find several others listed on the XDA forums too. Take your pick.

Well it's flashed the recovery image using unrevoked.

Then you are rooted and can just reboot into your existing ROM for now. When you're ready to install a new one you can go back to recovery and carry on from there.

It should work. No reason I can think of why it wouldnt. Make a nandroid backup before to be safe

Something to note, when you install ROM Manager it will say that you don't have ClockworkMod. You have to use the ClockworkMod install option within ROM Manager. In reality this won't actually do anything, but it will make ROM Manager happy.

I tried the Devilian one as well as the Leedroid but found the

[ROM-FroYo] Official Froyo HTC Sense ROM (16/07 v1.0c | OpenDesire Team

one to be best for me, its on xda forums.

I used ROM manager to make a 512mb partition on my sd card first and once i installed the ROM it automatically set up APPS2SD for me loads of internal memory left

How did you find opendesire better?

edit : I see now, it's much closer to stock.

The first a bit impenetrable for my liking, so I tend to use this one in French (my 2 decade old GCSE French can decrypt it so I'm sure most of you will be OK)
