Root flashed custom rom, now boot loop

my droid 3 is in a boot loop after flashing custom rom - i made sure to wipe everything clear before installing the rom....cant figure out how to flash back to before.

i have clockworkmod and i had the boostrap app

trying to figure how to get into recovery mode.

i did m + power on, and i get the option to select 'recovery'

but then all i get is a droid with the ! in the triangle.

any help on what to do ?

i made a backup before i flashed anything.

thanks

try holding volume up and volume down then power if it boots to a menu select bp tools then u should be in recovery if u used hashcodes cwm. For koushs cwm there's no booting in recovery from powered down state unless u have newest version hold m press power select BP tools.

If all else fails go here

good luck

WAIT! Don't SBF. Use Power + M and scroll down to BP Tools and select it with up. This may take you into Bootstrap which you can then use to restore a nandroid backup.

As for your flashing issues...what did you do? Can you give us a step by step because flashing a ROM should BL?

The volume up and down method gets you into Stock Android Recovery, which is useless in this case. You need to get into that limbo area between boot loader and boot up which is Bootstrap using the M Power and BP tools method. X + Power will get you to the Android and triangle when volume up and down will then get you to stock recovery, which won't help.

Basically after I flashed it, everything went fine...then Im just stuck into boot loop to where it wont do anything at all.

And I did create a backup / just cant figure out why its not letting me go back to recover it...
and when i do bp tools it just goes into the loop again and does nothing..

Okay. So basically I got it into where you can factory reset it after trying forever. Then i download the SBF and files and try that. And guess what? It goes back into the loop, then comes on! with my custom rom. lol

So , hey f*k at least its working now... lol Im not sure what i did, but its working.

Going to just use the ROM for a while and if i dont end up liking it, go back to stock considering I actually can now!! lol

thanks for the help.
