Root Flashed ROM without backup - what happend?

Run3

Newbie
So I rooted my desire using unrevoked and flashed CM7 without taking a backup (neither a nandroid nor a titanium-style backup) but wiping the system. Luckily everything went ok, and Im now using the goodness that is CM7 :) :)

BUT, I have some questions regarding my flashing around;

1. What happend to the htc-sense ROM that came with the phone, is it still laying somewhere on my phones memory (using up space)?
2. Where on the phones memory are ROMs stored after they have been flashed?
3. Ok, so i didnt take the backup of anything, but after i flashed the CM, all the settings for internet, sms where working (i.e. I didnt have to enter the information I did when I just got the phone). How is that possible? I wiped the cache before flashing so all settings and apps were gone!
4. If I flash a new ROM, will my CM7 ROM still be at the root of my SD (where I put it before flashing it the first time)?
5. How do you restore a titanium-style backup after you have flashed a new ROM?

Oh my that were a lot of questions :o:o

All help welcome, cheers :)

I'll try:
1) Original Sense ROM has been over written by the CM7.
2) When flashed the ROM becomes the operating system for the phone and is stored on NAND.
3) many ROMS come with auto apn setup, hence why you didn't need to enter anything.
4) the .ZIP file that you put onto the SD card will remain on the SD card. UNLESS you wipe the SD card.
5) restore missing apps and data. DO NOT restore SYSTEM DATA between different ROMS.
