Root Flashing beats equilizer

I just read an article on life hacker about flashing the beats by dre equilizer on rooted phones. Here's a link to the article.

I downloaded the flashable zip yesterday but haven't applied it yet. From what I understand, this only impacts audio coming a music player and not streaming? So if I had music on my SD card, I would hear it there but not when I'm streaming something from Pandora or whatever else?
 
I have used this in a rom and sorry it dont work. You could select beats and get a good sound. Then select dolby and then back to beats. The sound would change from the first use of beats. Switch it to SRS and back to beats and yet again get a different sound of the beats than the first two. Even using the eq and switching to beats would sound different from all the other uses of beats. So I dont even bother with the hype of beats.

Did you use this particular zip file or one included in a rom?
 
This zip doesn't give you that music player you speak of. I had the same experience with it lol. This file makes the change to your sound automatically.

At least on aosp. I've only tried it on shed.
