flashing google video chat app

[heshanj]

im thinking of flashing the google video talk app update from xda, this one:

xda-developers - View Single Post - [APP][ROOT] Google Talk 1.3 with Video calling, Now wifi optional!

my only question is, once it is official released with a firmware, say KH5 or something.. will this update get replaced with the original Talk app? coz i would want to be able to get automatic updates to the Talk app once video is officially released.. if this app stays after i flash a new firmware that includes video chat, i wouldnt be able to receive updates.. plz let me know if someone's tried cheers

When you flash new firmware this will be replaced. Everything in the system app section gets replaced.

Have you tested video and it works? Just asking because my brother is on KG6 and I'm going to tell him to flash it.
