i just a flashed the netarchy-toastmod-4.3.2-cfs-nosbc-havs-more-universal-signed and my battery is only giving me about 10 hrs of life... I want to flash a no-havs kernel to test it out... My question is if I flash a new kernel do I have delete the previous kernel I downloaded from the root of my SD?

no. but you should let the kernel settle in for a couple charge cycles before making a judgement.

+1

If it still doesn't give you very good battery life, then try the HAVS less version. Your phone may not be able to handle HAVS more.

Out of curiosity, what PRI are you on?

I had problems with the 1.90xx PRI on my phone running Toastmod 4.3.1 cfs HAVS nosbc. I downgraded my PRI to 1.77xx and I get over 24 hours on a charge.

Also in my case, 4.3.1 did not settle so well. I went down to 4.2.1 and everything is good now. Perhaps I will try to use my first choice again and back down the PRI.

D_droid, all I did to back down was to put the version I wanted in the SD root. Same as before. In recovery clear your cache's. Cache and delvik. And then flash your new kernel from file.

Be sure to do a nandroid before you flash anything like radios or pri and such just in case. Gotta make sure you have a backup for your 4G keys.
Link to XDA for radios and such:
[ Radios ][ 12-17 ] All EVO Radio, WiMAX, PRI, NV & HBoot versions - xda-developers

If you downgrade your PRI make sure to do the same for your NV as well. You'll have to flash one or the other then reboot, let it do its thing it takes a minute after reboot. Then flash the other, same thing on being patient.:)

As always wipe dalvik and cach partition prior to flashing anything. ;)

Thanks for you help.... I flashed the netarchy-toastmod-4.3.1-cfs-nohavs-nosbc-universal-signed so I'm going to give that a try for a couple of days.....

@Granite

I'm running PRI 1.90....

Once again thank you all for all your advice...

Have you tried using underclocking when your screen is off? That is one thing that will increase your battery life. Setcpu is the one I use for it, though I believe there are other apps for doing the same thing.

Yeah... These are my profiles with set cpu:

- Screen Off 245min-245max On Demand

- Battery < 50% 614max-245min Conservative

- Main 883max-245min Conservative

Today is my first day trying out this kernel and see some improvement in battery life. I will try it out for a week and hope it gets even better after a couple of charge cycles.
