Root Flashing rom question?

I just got the D.C today I have read some how to's on flashing roms using odin over @ xda forums, which I get how to use odin. But my question is can I flash the rom before rooting. Say I dled odin, and I dled the newest gummy charged rom 1.9 full. So can I just flash that over and be rooted and all that good stuff or do I have to flash other files before the rom? Just double checking so I don't mess anything up. then I can use cwm recovery to flash gcgbe2.0

That should work - you dont need anything extra to root beyond the GC 1.9 ODIN file, and once there you can flash the GBE zip in CWM. Just make sure to wipe data/cache/dalvik in CWM before going to GBE.

Thank you, another question when I flash the new radio to use with gbe in odin do I need to uncheck time reset or keep it checked with auto reboot. Plus I don't need to wipe anything to flash the new radio correct?

it's not working for me just keeps saying failed after I hit start I retried a few times but same result

Before your hit start, try putting your battery back in the phone.

that worked it flashed and passed now booting up. Thank you! When I flash ep1w radio do i uncheck time reset or keep it checked?

This is a problem. Why was flashing the ep1w radio not a part of trpark's tutorial? Did I miss something in his instructions?

They are there - just on the "Flash Modem Instructions" tab. You could always check out this thread - I'm not sure if it is any easier to find info, but you never know till you check I suppose!
