Root Flashing to metro question

Hey if I have a metro ready evo insteaf of going in to pay them to put my esn in there system if I already have an activated metro phone coild I copy down the esn...i know theres more to it then that... But for simplety copy it down zero out my metro phone and copy the esn data to the evo would that work?

if it was already active on metro then all you have to do is dial *228 and activate it. but if you're trying to switch esn from a metro phone to an evo click here

Whats the easiest way to Root? Would this help my situation that i am in with my phone? I cant call out and i cant download pictures, but i get full internet and can text all i want and also recieve calls? Any advice?

if you can make calls you should also be able to make calls. i think you just need to make sure you have your phone number correct in the CDMA tab on QPST.
