[FLORIDA] 4g metro speeds ;)

Does T-Mobile have 3g?? I was reading the 40 dollar 4g plan info on metros website and it says that you get 500mb of 4g and then you have unlimited 3g. As of now I have the 30 dollar promotional 4glte plan and when I get throttled down I switch to 3g and I get decent speeds. Around 1.42mb down and 0.69 up. I want to switch to byod and get the 40 dollar plan, but I just wanted to Know if i'm gonna be able to switch to 3g when I get throttled.

Well dont know whats going on here at work and getting very crappy speeds but still good ping..

My DL speeds are Ok at 4-6, my UL is so bad it take a couple minutes for the Speedtest to even finish, around .02-.15 Mps. :(

Guys we have to understand that we have human beings working on this towers my friend is under stress trying to get things done this guys are super busy working on updating towers so we gotta be a little patient this guys have families too.

Lol i was never rushing anyone just showing my service is bad...im not even getting service...just 3/4 bars atm..thk god for wifi

And they said that speed test server wasn't a 4g tower lol

They would never use a tower as a speed test host because that would negatively affect the towers speeds because of the capacity restraint on precious backhaul it'll be either a data center or a routing office but not a tower and there's additional reasons for that too

I have a data point on these scaringly low UL speeds.

I just did a couple speed tests with 5 Mps DL and UL of .29 Mps.

Now of course, the first point is you need to UL much less often than you need to DL but still, you'd still like to Be Able to UL if you need to.

For grins and giggles, right after I blasted in with that .2Niner I UL a 1.1 Mb pic from my Gallery to Picaser. It took about 20 sec. That's not a problem for me.

I've have to catch it waddling in at a blazing .05 Mps :D and see if a pic will still fly.

you need good up load to sustain good down load.

your system has to upload to the remote system telling it your still receiving the files or it shuts down.
that is why some speed tests time out.

Well here are my 4G results from my T-Mobile GS4 after activating it on MetroPCS. Would love to run more test daily, but it does eat up more data then when I had my 3G phone lol. Running on the $50 plan, but since I rarely made it past 1GB a month while I had the 3G phone, I haven't seen a need to upgrade to the $60 plan yet.

i know this makes no sense, i got a metro s3(CDMA)
and for some reason for the past 4 days my signal/internet has been acting up, it constantly drops from 4G to 3G and viceversa and sometimes nothing shows up at all on the signal bars on the top.
Ive tried restarting the phone numerous times calling to update the PRL numerous times, airplane mode on/off numerous times and nothing. Seems like my 4G is having problems staying constant.
Any ideas?

We have all been having similar problems. I never put my phone down so I notice it a lot. Its been happening for a couple weeks

I'm having same results with my S4 from Metro (SGH-M919N) here in Miami, but decided to upgrade to $60.00 plan, in just three days used 30% of 2.5Gb of data. :(

Yeah I'll see how it goes in the next few months to see if I need to upgrade. Right now I'm at 420mb of Mobile data usage and I have about 3 weeks left before the new cycle begins. Speed test has taken 180mb of that data so far lol. I doubt that I will reach 2.5 GB, but I'll see how it goes. Main thing I do have to cut back on is speedtest :/

Wow ... I wish I could do that, I've used 6.4 GB in the first week. I use my hotspot all day in the car though so thats most of it.

That's quite a bit compared to me :D... If I had hotspot, I probably would use it more because the 4g speed is faster than the 3mbps DSL speed I get at home. But when I'm out with the laptop, I can access another DSL connection, so I don't have too much use for hotspot at the moment. It is a convenient feature though. I don't stream movies either, I prefer watching Blu-ray discs. So my phone is more so just for browsing, facebook, youtube and sending pics. As soon as I get home I just tap into the wifi. That's probably why I doubt I'll reach 2.5 GB by the end of the cycle.
