Help Flytouch 3 Power connector problem

Hi all

I have a loose power connector on my circuit board. I have to move my power plug around to get my Flytouch 3 to charge.

Also my Flytouch 3 will only charge when the tablet is switched on.

My questions - has any one here replaced their onboard power connector? If so where did you buy a replacement power connector?

Also is there any way to fix the problem of the tablet only charging when the tablet is on? How can I get it to charge when the tablet is switched off?

are u sure its on the board, and not on the chargers pin (most chargers are a piece of shit)

i'm not why its not charging when turned off, thats very odd.

Today I bought a new Generic 5v 3 amp charger with a variety of tips. The new charger seems to fix the problem. When I plugged it in to the tablet there was a solid connection and no matter how much I move the plug the red light stays on.

Another benefit now seems to be that the unit will charge (and quite rapidly) even if the tablet is switched off. I can only assume that the charger that came with the tablet was not giving the tablet the power necessary to drive the charging circuitry.

My only problem now is the battery. For reasons unknown the battery has not held a charge for very long. I have already ordered a new 8000 mah replacement battery but in the interim it will be interesting to see if the new charger makes any difference to the battery life.

If you have like me, bought a cloned device,then there is a huge chance you have a smaller battery. Thats the reason ofcourse for the lower battery life then.
If you install the 8000 mah then it should last as long as the official flytouch3 devices (officially6-7 houres i tihnk) - but you should always take that with a little salt.

If you succesfully install the new battery,please make photos of the process and post them here. I'm very interested to do the same but i have no experience doing such things.

Can you also link me to the place where you bought the powercharger ?

The new adapter is 5v DC @3 amps (same specifications as original). Look at for catalog number MP3480.

Peter, thanks for your tip. I have the same problem. When I checked out the adapter you recommended, I saw that it has an Australian power plug. Are you in the US - and if so, was Jaycar able to substitute a US power plug?

Mine had a power plug issue also. I replace the end of my stock power plug but now mine only charges with the power off. I ordered a plug from ebay today so when it gets here I'll post my results.
 
I have had mine for 5 days now. At first mine would not hold a charge either. I couldn't get any more than about an hour. A few things that I did.

Rooted my tablet and calibrated the battery.

Next I also discovered that if I hit the power button the briefly, the tablet goes dark but it does not shut off. It will drain completely overnight. Also, mine does not charge very quickly in this state. I hold the power button in a few seconds and power it off solid each time. I charge it shut off also. I can now watch just under 4 hours of video on batteries.

I just got my Flytouch 3 android yesterday.The device can be turned on successfully, but then I found out that the charger is not well-fitted to the tablet and suddenly it turned off and cant be on until now (except the green light, but nothing happen after it) I wonder why was it.
It showed a red light when I charge and I did adjusted it a lil bit. How can we know if it is full-charged or not?
because I've charged it for about 4 hours and it still with a red light. When I removed the charger and want to turn it on, the light was green
but the screen still in dark. I did it many times, turn on, wait for a few seconds still no show. Is there any solutions or suggestions? Thank you
 
Hello guys I am new to the Android Forums.
I think I have a car charger problem, last night I was out with my flytouch 3 and it had a 96% charge on it but while was using it the battery ran low so I plugged it into the cig lighter port in my car the charge light came on the pad for about ten mins and went off. The car charger red light stays on indicating that it has power going to it.
The pad charging turned red and the pad shut off in mid use and then turned on a few seconds later.
The pad did shot off right after it when into the loading screen and would not charger from the car charger.
I took the pad home and plug in the wall charger and it is charging now. I have the flytouch 3 but the box says supperpai 2
running disco 10 2mp camera. I updated the software to tim's rom 4E. Before I run out to radio shack and buy a new car charger.
What is the real specs for the car charger.
radio shack has one that is 5volts 2.5 amps
Can this car charger work for this pad without shorting it out.
The stock charger is input: DC 12v-24v the output: DC 5.0V +5% Max 1500mA.
