FM Radio Trick

Tech Addiction

I know it's been mentioned you can take an old set of earbuds or somthing and cut the tip off and just plug that into the T-Bolt to trick the FM Radio into turning on and use the Ext speaker. I have a 3.5mm right angle adapter that can still be used for headphones but will allow you to listen to the FM Radio through the external speakers. Thought I would share.

I use that adapter in my car, and to think all I had to do was take it with me when I get out of the car. Thanks for sharing!

You get better reception if your reception is weak by pluging in a pair of earbuds to it but I was able to listen to several stations with just the adapter by itself while in my house. It works really well and looks pretty good too I think.

Curious, you think a headphone splutter would work too?
Its looks like ur thing, just just with an extra prong..

If you are gonna have to carry an adapter with you anyway, I would rather just carry a set of earbuds. At least then I could use them if I wanted to. But the adapter is useless other than to get the Fm radio to work, and even then it probably doesn't work that well since it needs the wire to get a good signal.

I guess I just don't see the advantage of doing this over just using earbuds?

The advantage is, you don't have to have the earbuds dangling from your phone to listen to FM with the speaker phone. That's pretty self explanitory. If you've never tried it, how can you comment on how well the reception is? My point was that others have snipped off the 3.5 plug from an old pair of headphones. I like this way better. You don't need to carry this around seperately, you can connect it to your earbuds you are already carrying. You get to choose how you want to listen.

Ok, so you tie the earbud wire up so it doesn't dangle. Problem solved.

Because it uses the wire as an antenna.
No wire = no antenna.
No antenna = bad reception.

If it's this versus cutting up some earbuds, then I agree this is better.
But I don't see the need for either, when you could just use the earbuds, which would give you better reception anyway.

Fair enough.

Or could just use the Tunein app. That dosent require an antenna. I kinda seems though that it dosent have all the stations though.

Nice tip though.
