Help FM Radio

Yes it does.

I guess i'll use it if I relly need to listen to a local station for some reason. But with Pandora, MP3's and XM.... I doubt it'll get much use.

I was just thinking maybe in an emergency. But online radio seems like a much better option otherwise.

Hockey is broadcast on FM here. I can get play by play when I'm at a game.

Also, the local college station is pretty good. I like to tune in occasionally for some of their shows.

I will use it in the gym. After I throw weights around I like to do 30 mins of light jogging. There are a bunch of LCD TVs with 8 different TV stations playing that you can listen to by tuning into the FM channel they each have sound broadcasting on.

There are a few other times. Occasionally I'll have a friend or family member doing an interview with or as a guest on a local station to listen to. Then of course since I'm in Austin they do some cool live coverage of things like SXSW (which is currently going on).

Hey guys do you think it will be possible to instead tune in to the radio to tune out? Like can I broadcast my own signals and pick them up on my radio in the car.. My AUX doesnt work anymore..

Most radio stations don't play contests on their online streams, probably the only thing i could think of wanting radio on my phone for.

I wanted it to use to listen to 99.9 kisw in seattle, but i found out they have their own app, and it streams it live. Its easily my most used app, and it negated the need for the FM receiver on my DINC. That said, i really wish the TB had an AM radio to listen to Football/Baseball broadcasts or at least an app that allowed that very thing.

You all need to let us know how fast it kills your battery when you listen to the radio for 30 minutes jogging or worse for 2 hours at a hockey game.

Love hockey though. Going to a game tonight.

This is something phones should have.

Please no. Right now having a FM Receiver takes up almost no additional space in the phone due to it using the headphones as an antenna.. You can't do that with a transmitter, so the phone would cost more, weigh more, have larger dimensions, all for something most people would never use.

You forget the interfering effect having an FM transmitter built in would probably have on 3G/4G reception.
