FM Transmitter?

Hello, I know the LG Opt doesn't come with a built in FM Transmitter app. Could anyone recommend a good transmitter? I'm not looking to spend too much but want something that does the trick and hopefully charges the phone at the same time.

I use Sky.fm Radio. It has a clear sound on my headphone and I like it :)

But I think it's a pre-programmed broadcoast, not a live transmitter
On the other hand, u won't get any live commercial interruptions like on a regular radio station.
 
Does anyone have any experience with this on their OV? GOgroove FlexSMART X2 ADVANCED. This connects to your phone through bluetooth, not USB. Which means your phone's USB port is free to charge/power it while playing; this device also has a USB slot. The reviews are raving, but have not seen much from LG phone owners. My cars do not have an aux input, so this seems ideal.
 
My experience w/FM xmitters is it's not worth it due to the constant tweaking. When you travel you constantly have to redial to get a clear channel. And a small amount of noise signal will override your broadcast. I used to think the FM spectrum didn't carry noise. It does. If you don't travel much a FM xmitter should be OK. Roll 50 miles away from where you set freq. and chances are you'll be retuning.

I'm looking into a stereo with BT and aux jack.

I have that bluetooth adapter. It works really well, but the sound quality is just OK (bass is a bit lacking). It auto-pairs when it is turned on and the call quality is pretty good. The audio can be output either via FM or aux out.

I don't have that problem with the device that's being reference, it puts out a strong FM signal that overrides any weaker FM signal; clearly a strong FM signal might be a problem.

It's a nice unit as I have one too and it will auto search for quiet FM stations, so tweaking it to another station is a piece of cake if you need to.

But as another poster wrote, it is a bit weak on the bass, not sure if that's the phone of the BT transmitter, although I think that might be Pandora's fault as music files on my memory card do sound better. For the most part I like it and it is definitely one of the better FM transmitters I've come across.

I have read reviews where they say they can hear a hissing sound if you charge while playing. Has this been your experience?
 
That's an issue with using affordable (cheap) FM transmitters in general. I used to use a Belkin Tunecast with a Creative Muvo in my car all time, I always heard the hiss. The intensity of the hissing was proportional to how fast my engine was turning over. Of course, that may or may not be what the reviewers were hearing, just reporting my experience.

Lossless is the only way to fly. I only play 16 & 24 bit FLAC.

I don't hear a hiss, but I drive a pickup truck which are not exactly the quietest vehicles on the road. I think if you've spent a lot of money on a car stereo system and then try to use an FM transmitter you'll be disappointed.

I will say when I bought the unit, I did so based on the reviews on Amazon.com and found most of the reviewers to be dead on. I've used FM transmitters in the past and they were awful, but I have been pleasantly surprised with this one. If you're looking for an easy way to get music onto you car stereo with out cut/splicing wires, it's does the job. But if you looking for something that will reproduce a symphony hall listening experience, you'll be disappointed.
 
A good radio app will get better sound quality and a much better list of available stations.
Tune-In Radio Pro is available for free on GetJar. Highly recommended.
 
We aren't all talking about the same thing here. Some are talking about an app (like Tune In - a personal fave of mine) that streams broadcast radio over a data connection. Some are talking about an FM transmitter (like the Belkin Tunecast) to transmit the audio from the phone to an FM radio. The Optimus V doesn't have an FM radio in it (like the Wildfire S) so it isn't able to pull in broadcast radio on it's own.
