I created a folder on the home screen of my phone. In this folder i'd like to place file attachments that i receive from school. How do i grab the file (*.doc, *.pdf, *.xls) and place it in this folder for easy, quick access?
As far as I know you can't put files in the folders on your home screen. Just apps. You'll need to use an app like Astro to create file system folders and place/move files in them. But you'll have to launch these files from within Astro.

get astro file manager from the market. Long press on your home screen and select create shortcut, select astro, browse to the file you want, done. I do this for take out restaurant menus I have saved on my phone and have a "food folder" with direct dials and their menus in it.
