Following factory reset, cannot download apps from playstore. Help.

I just did a factory reset of my phone because I heard that would improve lagging performance. Following the reset, every time i try to download apps from Market it will always tell me that there was an error downloading the app from the market, "error retrieving information from server".

prior to posting this, I did a thread search and none of those proved to be any help.

I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but I had many of my apps stored on the SD card. I removed the card prior to the factory reset, after the reset i put the the SD card in again. Could that be causing the issue?

well... the well known answers would be

1) restarting phone
2) delete dalvik cache
3) delete data/cache of the all apps google service related (framework, service, play store, play game etc etc..)
4) remove account then add back in
5) find the hosts file @ system/etc, delete it

If none of these work, it might be play store conflicting between factory reset version and SD card one somehow. Try without insderting SD and see if you can update play store and download apps.

What I did was deleted the contents of the SD card, this solved the problem. I was able to download with no issues afterwards.
