Help Font Size

Cogs

Newbie
I want to know if there is a way to increase the font size in places such as emails, addressess book, call history, and even this text screen that I am typing into, etc.

It appears as if the phone was not designed for those of us who have grown wiser and as a result do not have the vision we once had.

A big thumbs up to who can help me out here.

Hey,

I wont be much help but possibly a start as i dont use sense anymore, so the email address book and call history comes under that.

But for something like the web, it should be in the settings menu under 'text size'. Other than that, searching the market or even appbrain could prove quite useful.

If i come across something i'll let you know

cheers

Edit - just searching on the market, there seems to be this app called 'sms/talk text enlarger' which 'changes the font size in the stock sms messaging and google talk applications with this accessibility plugin'.

now i dont know if that is stock as in AOSP or sense but it could be worth a try.

Edit 2 - I just remembered that if you're rooted, anything is possible. Check out this app called 'font size' by i-p-tel gmbh. This increases the font size globally for your phone...so everything ;)

Edit - If someone can jump in on this but what about LCD Density? I dont use it but i know its meant to effect text size? hmm.

I have the same problem,

There was an app I tried that allows you to change fonts but it almost locked my phone tried it 3 times and after 30 minutes each time I uninstall-ed it, It did have a list of phone that it didn't work on (desire wasn't there), also to un check program's until it was ok, had a list you can select which programs to apply it to, but never got far enough to try that.

I use Handcent for txting etc

The standard email app allows you to up the font size, internet you can zoom anyway, I use app for notes and reminder that you can up the fonts,

The developers who decided on a non-adjustable small font size for the android smart phones must themselves be utterly stupid. From a business perspective they are limiting the usefulness of these phones to people under 40 years old (the magic age when eyesight begins to deteriorate). Which phone cmpany in there right mind wants to make a product which cant be used by half the the working population because of something as silly as font size limitation.

My advice to the management of the phone companies is sack the idiots who overlooked this because they are costing you business.

My advice to people having difficulty reading the small fonts on these phones...Do not bother complaining to the phone manufacturers because they are clearly not listening. Instead please post warnings everywhere you can to ward people away from buying andriod based phones. Only when companies like HTC start to feel a direct loss in sales and reputation of android phones due to this problem will they put the effort into do something to solve the problem.. Use the internet to warn everyone... Copy and paste a warning to every android review you can !! :D

Tried the above suggestions and none of them work.

The phone is not rooted and I don't intend going down that path unless absolutely necessary. This may make it so though. Truth is I'm worried that I will brick it.

Thanks for the suggestions.
