Root For 2.2 Market issues, use this mod.

Yes.. DO NOT use the Eris Market Fix app. Ppl have mixed results. Afterall, its for the ERIS.. not the X.

Just download rom manager and take your choice of Beesley's build.props.


Make sure to bootstrap first :) Sometimes it helps to avoid issues.
 
I bought Root Explorer and for some reason its missing the "Mount R/W" buttons...

I am trying to move over the build.prop from my sd card to the systems dir.

Any suggestions?


btw, the only reason I am doing this is because there are certain apps that I can not download from the market... example: Sqaure

Once again, just download rom manager. Its the easiest way to download a new build.prop.
 
I guess when I did a reset it took me out of root. Anyway, I was able to copy ro.build.version.incremental=2.3.9 back into the Sys dir, but when i goto the Market and type US Bank, I only get 4 results.

The whole reason I am trying to get this to work is so I can download an app called "sqaure". I keep getting "The Requested item could not be found"


Any suggestions?

In the build.prop, make sure your market fingerprint looks EXACTLY like this.

ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/shadow_vzw/cdma_shadow/shadow:2.2/VZW/23.15:user/ota-rel-keys,release-keys

Save & Exit if you are using Root Explorer.


After making sure, clear the market data/cache by going into Menu, Settings, Applications, Manage, find the market and then clear data/cache.

Then reboot the phone and your market should be good to go.
 
Have a Transform that I was able to root and install Froyo on, but have lost full access to the market.

Please can some on post a step by step procedure on how to put the build.prop into my phone. Essentially how do I get into the system folder? I have download the file to my SD card but am oblivious as to how to.. and where to move it to the system folder on the phone.
