For all those disappointed with Google Now

You add more teams by searching for them. Just go into your voice search once a day and search for the teams you are interested in until it picks up on them and adds them to the list.

Cool to see another Braves fan in here though :D
 
OK, so NOW I'm impressed.

Screen lifting getting worse so been on the phone to currys/PC world about a replacement.
Checked stock online at my local store and when I'd done there was a notification.
Tapped it and it went to Google now showing a card with map and directions the the store I'd just checked!!

Now that's just the kind of real world situation where I can really see the point and potential of Google now :-)

Just a shame the store is out of stock :'(

My dashboard won't let me open up web history past searches?
Here's what is listed:
Web History: Enabled for searches only

Looked around the settings and searched online, it's telling me to enable more via Web History in my toolbar. Only problem, Web History isn't showing in my toolbar, and I am signed into Chrome.
 
So I was on the web history settings page and something said I only had history enabled for searches and I pressed something and fear I may have opened the history more than I want.
How do I set it to just searches again?
 
I tried this for a few days and it didn't seem to make much difference, it was still coming up with just the weather and time to work.

Of more concern was the large increase in battery drain while traveling (I'm guessing this is the location stuff), so I've actually disable Google Now altogether. Shame, it was looking promising. Note, this was on my GNex not N7.

Open an incognito tab and carefully read the information, there. Incognito mode stops your browser from storing your searches, history, cookies, etc. locally, but does *not* stop servers from gathering information, as it is completely beyond the browser's control. That being said, if you start an incognito tab and don't sign in to your Google account, then of course your searches won't be saved, anywhere...

It's also worth mentioning that GNow is browser independent, so opening an incognito mode tab really has no impact on the information Google collects via GNow..

i don't have any cards on mine. i've had my nexus for 3 days and searched sports and the weather constantly, i've also go history enabled so what am i doing wrong?
 
I've only had my history on for a few days too. I flashed JB to my GNex yesterday and being out and about I got some new cards finally today.
 
I've been trying to get it to tell me when to leave for an appointment but it hasn't quite worked yet. I must be doing something wrong.

For example, yesterday I had to pick my mom up at 9:00 and take her to her doctor. I added the appointment in Google Calendar (on my N7) and actually put her address in. I got a notification 15 minutes before I had to meet her but that was the default notification time for any appointment. When I checked GN, it simply said I had an appointment at 9:00 but gave me no map or traffic info.

I expect to be notified when I should leave based on current traffic density and distance to her house.

Is there a better or correct method of getting GN to do this for me?

Click Manage Account

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Go To Web History"

Turn on Web History.


After this, when you do searches, Google will gather your search data in your account and start populating Cards in Google Now. This means you'll start seeing your favorite sports teams and you will also be able to edit them. The reason the edit teams is greyed out for you is you don't have any teams. When you do searches, it will populate that field and you can then edit them to remove ones you don't want.

I can't bring myself to doing this... I don't need Google knowing this much more about me. Plus, then what if I ever do something where a court may subpoena that information... now I don't plan on doing something that would lead up to that, but just because the chances of a meteor hitting earth and abolishing it are minimal, doesn't mean I am going to discount that small chance (lol). Plus, I have no control over that, but I do over my web history :)

I don't mind this feature being activated, and it already is...

But all I seem to get is the weather and some information about a hotel that I haven't searched about. I look up routes a lot for work on my laptop and they show up in Google Now but other searches, like F1 and other stuff just doesn't show.
 
Sports has a long way to go with Google Now. Especially racing. I have many cards, but no NASCAR ones either.:rolleyes:
