For those complaining about Evo build quality issues..

So they're both junk. How does that change anything? That's like saying I should be satisfied that the wheels fell off my Honda because Toyotas have acceleration problems.

The point is the Evo's problems are small in comparison. And I woudln't go so far as to say they're both junk, unless you have some kind of super phone that none of us know about.

Right, but my point is that it doesn't help my Evo issues one bit that someone else is having problems with an iPhone. You can always use that same technique: "Is your Evo's screen separating? Stop complaining, because some people are slaves working in diamond mines."

Agreed. We have our issues and IP4 users have their issues. I also don't understand how another person's problems become another's relief..

I wish people would stop posting threads like this... we should be using this forum to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve our own issues. Maybe we need a separate sub-forum called "At the expense of others..."

True, it doesn't help you at all, but it does give you some perspective. I guess I was aiming it towards those people in this forum who seem to cry like their firstborn child's life is at danger because light is bleeding from their s creen. Phones have problems, life goes on!

It's called perspective. Helps you to understand that the problems experienced with this phone are not unheard of, and often are much worse. No excuse for bad manufacturing, just trying to provide some perspective.
 
I can understand perspective but the tone of the OP didn't seem to provide such. Well, on with life!
 
I see that there are too many IP fans that lurk here, which is totally fine and infact they're welcome too if they really want to learn about Android/EVO etc or be fairly critical or add something positive.
But MOST of these IP fans are here just wanting to trash the EVO and Android.
These defects are important for any phone. And that too from a manufacturer whose fans claim that they do not let out half-baked products/software.:rolleyes:

Well if you look at half of the complaint threads here, either the guys are threatening to leave for the IP4 or somehow the IP4 ends up as the topic of discussion in the thread since some of them came from the 3g or 3Gs. So it makes perfect sense to point out that most of the likely apple fanbois will end up with more problems than they left behind.

Including the new text from ATT that blanks the screen and makes your phone vibrate to death (of the battery). And you can't just pull the battery cover to shut it down either.

Oh, the irony.........

Besides, it's just a thread, and it's not your thread. So voice your complaints as you will, but don't complain about everyone else's thread since it doesn't continue to harp on YOUR problems. Never seen so much whining.

i have an evo build 2 and it works Great and it has met all the expectation's that have been set by the hype if you have a problem get it swapped out they have them in stock for ADEX thru a service center and the device is new when you recieve it. HTC always backs their handsets.

Yeah I've seen too many in my short time here... that's primarily why I'm tired of seeing these threads. They do provide some good humor from time to time (like the pic above lol) but it's like history repeating itself over and over again... one long merged thread of this I wouldn't mind as much but when I come in here looking for useful info, I usually just end up seeing a bunch of folks repeating Engadget or Gizmodo... and then I feel bad for the IP4 folks because we're all in the same boat with issues.

As for the fanboy wars, I just don't want to stoop to their level. They can post all they want to try and make us feel bad about our phones but at the end of the day, who really cares?

I was expecting more technical folks I guess, but I guess there's Xda for that.

Idon't think iphone users ever see out of the scope of Apple. Everyone is making jokes about it and they will never face up. I didn't even realize the police raided The owner of Gizmodo's house. Thats ridiculous. Safeguarding a phone that doesn't even hold calls when you hold it like every other phone on the market. Way to go JOBS ha ha. Here come the Ibashers.

This is dic-riculous, if I purchased my Evo and had to mod it like this to make phone calls I'd return it. Apple fan peeps have turned into mindless consumers, the complete opposite of what apple stood for this whole time.

Love my Evo and yeah Sprints CS does suck at times their network has been great to me.

On a different note asked a co-worker to compare 4G network services with his new iPhone and he refused knowing how bad At&t's service was....?? makes no sense to me.

This is hilarious, but have you tried holding the evo the same way? Reception should drop. Mine only goes to 1 bar from 3 in the house. I think it's natural cause you're physically blocking the antenna with your hand and fingers. I have no idea why it's different when you use a case.

You would cry like a newborn baby too, if your EVO looked like this after 2 weeks.

After my third one finally I now have a perfect one. So please quit bashing people that are complaining about glass separation/light leakage. The problem is real and it might start off as very minor but will eventually end up very major. Not everyone was lucky to get a good EVO first time around.
