Root For those familiar with SOAB

Anyone know where the launcher/weather widget that is included with SOAB comes from (has space for 5 apps with expandable "drawers" for each)? Is this an HTC widget or 3rd party? I'm trying out the new Liquid 3.5 Sense based ROM, but I'd like to add that widget to my main page. Thanks for your help.

Yes... it does,iirc, been ahwile since I ran it. I dont remembr if it had 5 tabs,but it definately had that widget

Thanks, but I actually was hoping to find out where I could get the widget, since I'm trying out VigorSense 1.0 and it doesn't have it. Sorry, should have been more clear in my post.

I was reading over in the "Show your Thunderbolt Screen" thread and found out that it's a 3.5 Bliss Widget, specific to that version of sense, so I'll go looking for it on HTC Hub.

are you talking about the expandable wigets and weather wiget that comes standard on the front home screen of bamf SOAB 1.0.3 (newest i believe). yes that is an htc special thing.

i dont think you will find it in the hub-- i believe it came on some other phone and was ported on the TB.

i'd try posting in the BAMF Forums but im sure somebody might know. As far as i know, the soab rom was the only place i have ever seen it.

I ran that ROM almost exclusively (up until now) since Erishasnobattery (aka: Eris) released it. Eris ported that ROM from the HTC Rhyme (Bliss), and had to do some massive work it to get data working on it. It was tough for the same reason AOSP has been so difficult: 4G. Anyways, what you're referring to is the "Home" widget, and it's only found in Sense 3.5. If you want that widget, you'll have to run SoaB to get it. Don't know if that's what you needed, but hope it helps.

if you like sense 3.5 you might try synergys eternity. the home widget is available there as well,along with the bliss launcer if you dont like runnymedes typical looking rosie.

i ran sob when it first came out and liked it,tho nonfuntional bluetooth had me restoring a backup an hour later. did it ever get worked out?

Yep, was working very well, no Bluetooth problems. It's by far my favorite Sense ROM right now. v1.02 is where I left off to flash the latest CM7 (v1.1), which is finally what I would call a stable release.

Back to SoaB, I never really cared for the Home widget because the drawers are only useful if you use HTC apps with it, which I don't do across the board, though I do like Sense apps and many Sense widgets. I just didn't get much use from the drawers and ended up using the Sense flip clock instead.

However, Sense is by far hands down the best OEM skin, and in my opinion, Sense 3.5 is the best version of Sense.

Thanks, I ended up using Eternity as my sense ROM for using NFL Mobile, and using MIUI as my daily driver (didn't expect that I would like MIUI so much). I enjoy both of the ROM's, but I get better data speeds on MIUI.
