I happen to be on vacation this week and my wife had surgery last week so she is home with me. I had to bribe her into going with me friday morning. I have to paint the toe nails and help with some homework and this way I get an extra body in line just incase I have to go to the restroom!! lol I am sure there will be more payment due when I get home that morning. lol Now if I can just get sprint to fix my account I will be good. Right now they dont have my number as the primary one they have hers. Been calling for about two months now and they claim it would be fixed this morning so I can get my phone. So far my account does not reflect this information. So you know I have already sent an email to my contact so she will call me first thing this morning even though she said she would so she can do a manual push to get my account straight. I will be so upset if they cant get this done after I have spent two months trying to get it right!!!! If they dont there better be something good in it for me for making we wait even longer to get my phone thanks to their screw up!!!!
write a "nice" letter to corporate or Dan Hesse and I'm sure it won't be ignored.
last time I had major issues with their service I got reimbursed plenty after my letter.

That is the department I am dealing with now. The girl said she would call me today and make sure it went through and if not she would do a manual push. She stated that you had to at least wait two months for the changes and today made the two months so lets all cross our fingers, do some chanting or what ever to make sure this goes right! lol

Do you guys really anticipate that there will be huge lines? I work at 7 AM tomorrow so I can't go before work, but I was going to take a break and go down there when they open. Now I'm worried!

I got the email this morning stating that all the stores would open at 8. I plan on being at mine about 6. The guy at my store said he heard people would be camping out. Guess I will find out what kind of line there is when I get there. That is if they get my account situation taken care of today. If not I may have my contact call my store and talk to the manager to make sure I get the phone and at my discount.

store usually opens at 10am, but opening at 8am tomorrow. i'm getting there at least by 6am, maybe drive by at 515-530 to see if there's a line and decide to get breakfast if there isn't.

The bestbuy I am going to is right down the street from the Sprint store. I am going to go by on my way to Best Buy for my appointment at 7am to see if anyone is lined up. I really don't believe there will even be a line. I think most people who really wanted it pre-ordered.
Even though I'm not going to be standing in line I think it's going to be a blast for those who do. I remember when the PS3 first came out and doing the line thing for that. It actually ended up being a lot of fun with cool people. I'm sure tomorrow will be the same for everybody at the Sprint stores.
I have an appointment set for 6:30 am.....that was the last time slot they had early before the time they think the 'rush' will be coming in...Honestly i don’t Think anyone even goes to this radio shack (one of the reasons I chose it at first) But this means I will have to leave my house by about 5:30 am or 5:40 am....

After that its pretty much evo day for myself....thinking about rooting next wk, want to hear some more ppl do it and see the results.

I would not wake up early or stand in any lines for hours for a phone. I may get one. But if i miss out then i guess i will have to wait a few days.
I remember looking at the nerds in the apple line when the new iphones were out. What a sight. A buddy of mine waited in line for 3 hours to get his phone. If he would have went their at lunch time he could have just walked in and bought one. Haha.
Now if they were in short supply and i could sell them on ebay for a profit then i will wake up early.

really glad i dont have to wait in line. I've done it for 2 gaming system realeases, one wait was a full 24 hours (made 800 bucks on it tho).

Ok things are not looking so good for me getting Evo tomorrow. My contact called me back, but seems like they lied to me all this time and my update is not good until july!! They are still working on it. Hell they would not even move my date up for the extra 50 that everyone has been talking about. This is making me very unhappy at the moment. At least they said they would try and do more since it is only one month and this is their screw up not mine. I have been with them for 10yrs now and I would hate for this to be the first time for me to be this unhappy. If I had known it was july I would not be this upset. This is some crap on the eve of a great new phone!!!!

I really don't think there are going to be any lines, Sprint is supposed to be restocking their stores everyday through to Sunday so theres no need to line up early because about the only thing it guarantees you will be that you have to wait in line LOL Other folks will just roll in a couple hours after opening and grab there phones without waiting.

I thought this too. I stopped by the sprint store closest to my work after lunch today and it does NOT look like that though. The guy working there told me they anticipate running out EARLY morning.
may be a small initial line even though they're stocked. i think the biggest thing making the lines smaller this time than previous launches is bb and rs preorders (and again the lack of advertising)
That's the deal. There are a LOT of people who missed out on the pre-order or got shifted to the 2nd group. I think that they may show up to Sprint. I have heard *consistently* that most Sprint Stores will have 50+/- phones. I don't imagine there will be that many shipped in over the weekend either. AND...today is the last day of school for the kiddies here, so I think there could be a big turn out of HS kids. Personally, I would just wait, but I am going out of town for a while and my current phone SUCKS, so I need to get this phone ASAP. I have NEVER waited in line for ANYTHING before, so should be interesting. Still going to cruise by about 5-530. If no one is there, then I will hit up IHOP across the street.
One other thing is what I have heard from the BB regional manager here. The presales have been crazy. They were moving to the 2nd group on the 3rd day of preorders. He had also told me that BB had sold more preorders than ALL of the phone sales on the previous black Friday. I personally think there is going to be a supply issue...hence the lack of advertising. But...that is just my opinion.

Of course he did, he is a salesman trying to sell you a product LOL if there were going to be shortages we would have heard about it by now in the press. It certainly would be big news if this thing was that much in demand but in all reality the only demand is from the users posting on these forums, once we all wait in line to get ours everyone else will just walk in and buy them no line no waiting.
Don't get me wrong I hope the phone does well but this thing has not been hyped nearly enough to cause any kind of xbox or apple lines.

You really think they won't sell out? He was telling me that a ton of people are going to be lining up, and he urged me to fill out this form to order it. He said if I filled out the form they would enter the information in the morning and my Evo would be on my doorstep Monday morning.
I just feel like he wouldn't have told me that I should order rather than stand in line if he didn't REALLY think they would sell out. He told me they only received "a few". He said it was double digits, but the impression I was getting from him is that they only got 15-20ish.
I work in downtown San Diego, so I'm afraid a lot of people are going to walk over from work like I am.

Well I certainly hope there are big lines everywhere, I bought some Sprint stock just in case lol I just think really we would be hearing a lot more about this phone if there was to be that much ruckus about it. I am an Android fanboy lately having just bought a Nexus One a few months ago and i only found out this phone was being released on the 4th just a couple days ago...otherwise I wouldn't even be on the forums right now let alone preparing to get up early tomorrow to go pickup the phone so I really doubt the rest of the world is nearly as excited as the few of us posting on these forums. I'd be really surprised if they even know about the phone yet.

Well, he told me that a lot of people have already filled out the form so the employees can order them for them in the morning. He said that there have been a lot of inquiries about it and they are anticipating that the line of people getting there early will be so long that even THEY won't all receive phones.
I sure hope you're right... but unless he's lying, they're very short on stock here.
